Upcoming Cars in India 2020

 Upcoming Cars in India

The Indian automotive industry is a densely populated space. From affordable vehicles to literally estate holding cars, we’ve had the opportunity to experience almost about everything. But the future, as always, lies ahead.

1. Audi A4 Facelift

₹ 42 - 48 Lakh

Audi has taken the wraps off of what appears to be the face-lifted Audi A4. Audi has given it a major mid-life update in order to help it to stay afloat among its rivalry. Changes, however, are limited to the design and the addition of mild-hybrid powertrains.

The face-lifted A4 looks a little sharper now, with that wider new grille design. Even the headlamps have been re-profiled to look edgier, while the front bumper looks more sculpted. The lines along the side of the A4 are now more defined. At the rear, the bumper looks sharper and the dual exhausts look large and sporty. On the 'S' variant, the car gets 19-inch wheels, while the other ones come shod with 17-inch or 18-inch wheels.

2. Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan

₹ 33 - 40 Lakh

Mercedes-Benz has already announced that they will bring in around 10 models to India this year. The company has already confirmed the launch of the GLA and their fully-electric offering - the EQC. Aside from these two models, the Stuttgart-based carmaker is also slated to replace the CLA. The first-generation CLA has already been discontinued. As a replacement to the entry-level luxury sedan, Mercedes-Benz will bring in the A-Class sedan to India. Keeping in mind that luxury cars in India are primarily chauffeur driven, the CLA's coupe-line roofline resulted in limited headroom for the rear passengers. With that in mind Mercedes-Benz will bring in the A-Class sedan to India.

3. Nissan Leaf EV

₹ 40 - 45 Lakh

Nissan's Leaf is being evaluated for India, as the car has been spotted testing without camouflage, in a bright shade of red with a glossy black finish up front and at the rear. The Leaf happens to be Nissan's best-selling electric vehicle on foreign turf, and is named the Leaf e+. This new model gets a larger battery pack which helps in an increased range per charge. The Leaf e+ is already selling in some international markets, like Japan.

4. Citroen C5 Aircross

₹ 25 lakh

Citroen, the PSA group-owned brand has confirmed the launch of its flagship model in India – the C5 Aircross. It is slated to be Citroen’s first product for India, and will start rolling off showroom floors by late 2020. The car has also been spied testing as a mule in the country, quite a number of times. The French car maker has even started producing engines and gearboxes at its Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu. Citroen had also showcased the C5 Aircross in India recently. With an array of features on offer, powerful engines and a solidly built cabin, the C5 Aircross is bound to be a 30 lakh-rupee SUV with all the possible bells and whistles a buyer would expect in the premium luxury crossover segment.

5. Mercedes-Benz New GLA

₹ 42 - 50 Lakh

Mercedes-Benz showcased their next-generation entry-level SUV, the GLA, at the Auto Expo 2020. The new SUV will be launched in October this year.

The new GLA looks all grown up and more rugged than the current model, as it’s taller by 104mm, with a 30mm longer wheelbase. This translates into more headroom in the first row and improved legroom for the rear passengers, even though the new SUV is 14mm shorter than its predecessor. Mercedes-Benz has purposely shortened the new GLA’s front and rear overhangs to make it a bit more comfortable off-roader. It also now comes with protective cladding all around.
